The ASA provides a free consumer complaints process for concerns about the content and placement of advertisements. The ASA Complaints Board assesses complaints by considering them against the ASA Advertising Codes. The Codes set out rules to support advertising to be decent, honest and truthful. If the Complaints Board rules a complaint is upheld (in breach of one or more of our Codes), the advertisement must be removed or amended and media platforms will no longer publish or broadcast the ad. Decisions are also released to the media and the public through our regular decision release email and on the ASA website.
