Deadline extended: Children & Young People’s Code consultation

Consultation deadline extended

The deadline for submissions on the new draft Children’s Advertising Code and draft Food and Beverage Code has been extended to 12 May 2023. 

The two draft Codes have been developed by the ASA Codes Committee following a review of the submissions received in the initial consultation on the Children and Young People’s Advertising Code.

The Children’s Advertising Code will replace the Children and Young People’s Advertising Code and will apply to all advertising targeted to Children aged under 16 years.

The new Food and Beverage Advertising Code will apply to all food and beverage advertising including advertising to Children and includes a restriction preventing targeting Children under 16 years with occasional food or beverage advertisements.

Submitters are invited to review the consultation document and provide their feedback. The Codes Committee will use these submissions to inform their development of the final Codes, for release later in 2023.
